Minors Softball DivisionThe Minors Softball division is designed for girls ages eight through ten (league age is determined by the age of the player on January 1st) and focuses on continuing to improve the players’ softball fundamentals, skills, and knowledge of the game. The Minors division is more competitive than the Instructional division, yet players continue to be exposed to all positions, and the emphasis remains on player development and enjoyment. At this level, the players pitch and catch, youth umpires are used, scores are recorded and team standings are maintained. All teams make the playoffs and a single elimination tournament provides a champion and a runner-up at the conclusion of the season. Minors softball is played under the official ASA Softball rules, but implements some rule modifications necessary for the development and welfare of this age group. The game is played on a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 35 feet and an eleven inch ball. Any questions regarding Lincoln Park PAL Softball should be directed to:
