Majors Softball DivisionThe Majors Softball division is designed for girls of ages between the Minors and High School and focuses on continuing to improve the players’ softball fundamentals, skills, and knowledge of the game. The Majors division is more competitive than the Minors division, and introduces the players to game strategy and position-specific skills, although the emphasis remains on player development and enjoyment. At this level the players pitch and catch, youth umpires are used, scores are recorded and team standings are maintained. All teams make the playoffs and a single elimination tournament provides a champion and a runner-up at the conclusion of the season. Majors softball is played under the official ASA Softball rules, but implements some rule modifications necessary for the development and welfare of this age group. The game is played on a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 40 feet and a twelve inch ball. Any questions regarding Lincoln Park PAL Softball should be directed to:
