Lincoln Park league

The Lincoln Park League is the in town league for the P.A.L. Basketball program.

The breakdown for the leagues is as follows (all leagues are subject to possible change depending upon signups and grouping of ages in order to keep the skill levels as close as possible):

Boys Program

3rd Grade League - The 2006-2007 Third Grade Basketball Program is the first level of competitive basketball for the boys in Lincoln Park. The early part of the season will be dedicated to team and league practices, including basketball fundamentals, drills, running and court basics and knowledge. Each team will get over ten hours of critical practice time to hone each players skill level before the season's games begin. To ensure that all of the boys get the most out of the program, teams will get additional practice time based on schedule when the games start. This provides coaches with the ability to improve individual players' skills and work on facets of the game that become apparent during the season.

Competitive games will begin the second week of January, with each team playing 12 regular season games before the playoffs. Every boy in uniform will play in every game, with the roster sizes set to ensure maximum playing time for every player. Games occur on Thursday evenings at the Lincoln Park Middle School gymnasium, and Saturday mornings at the P.A.L. Building. With twelve games during the season and plenty of practice time, it is the goal of the Lincoln Park P.A.L. Basketball Program and the volunteer Coaches to instill a sense of individual accomplishment, fair play, team commitment and focus on improvement in this all-important age group.
