T-Ball Clinic Goals
Girls and Boys are divided into Softball and Baseball Teams and
introduced to the fundamentals of the game. Our goal is to teach children
in a non-competitive atmosphere the basics, instill a team concept and
philosophy, and above all, have fun. The basics of that these Girls and
Boys will learn with the Lincoln Park T-Ball Clinic will be a great value
as they move up, and as they grow older in every sport. Parents are
encouraged to watch their children progress during each session, cheer
then on, and see how each childs confidence and skills improve and grow
from session to session.
T-Ball Clinic Activities
Sessions will begin at 9:30 Sharp! At
the beginning of each session, the children will divide into their teams
with their coaches and participate in light calisthenics and warm-ups. A
short run will typically follow to get them ready.
After warm-ups, each team will participate in a
number of drills and activities designed to introduce them to the game,
and each individual part of the game. These include
Throwing
o Proper throwing technique
o Recognizing where to throw the ball
Fielding
o Grounders and pop-ups
o Fielding position hands, feet and body
Hitting
o Proper swing and technique
o Off of Tees
Base Running
o Smart running
o Running through first
o Running the bases
o Live Ball simulations
Base Sliding
o Off Sliding Mat
o Always a crowd favorite
Baseball/Softball 101
o Introduction to the field, positions, etc.
In addition, as the season progresses, we will
introduce games and activities that take the basics and put them together
in an instructional and fun way for the children to experience Baseball
and Softball.
Each child will require a baseball or softball
glove, and proper footwear. Team uniforms will be provided. Please note
that children may also bring bats and helmets for practice if you wish.
All children will be required to wear helmets while hitting. Batting
helmets must conform to league rules and be fitted with a protective cage
in the front.
The Lincoln Park T-Ball Clinic is a unique and fun
experience for all Pre-K and Kindergarten aged children, and we encourage
every child to come out and participate.
PLAY BALL!!!
